Trial, license and updates

The free trial
Every download starts a 30-day trial with every feature on. No account, no card, no trial key. The counter is in the top bar. Import your whole history during the trial and decide with the real numbers in front of you.
The download page offers to email you a reminder a few days before the 30 days are up. It is optional, it appears after the download has already started, and skipping it changes nothing about the trial. The counter in the top bar is the authoritative one either way.
What happens when the trial ends
The app becomes read-only. You can still open it, see the dashboard, journal and transfers, and export everything as CSV or a JSON backup. Importing, editing, pairing and price refresh pause until a license key is entered. Nothing is deleted, ever.
That is the only way to reach read-only mode, apart from a revoked key. An update window running out does not do it: whatever you have bought stays fully working.
Buying

Payment is USDT on the TRON network (TRC-20). The checkout shows an address and an exact amount; once the payment confirms, the key appears on the page and, if you gave an email, in your inbox. 14-day refund, no questions asked; see the Refund Policy.
Entering the key
License → Enter a license key, paste, Activate. The key starts with CT1- and has two parts separated by a dot; copy the whole thing. It is verified inside the app with a public key embedded in the file, offline; nothing is sent anywhere.
One key, any number of your own computers and browsers. It is also saved inside your JSON backups, so restoring on a new machine brings it along.
"Not accepted": usually a missing character at the start or end. Copy again from the order page or the email. If it still fails, email support@holdbound.com with your order reference.
Versions and the key
- Your key carries the date your update window ends. Any version built on or before that date runs with every feature, forever. A version built after it still opens and still works — the app simply tells you it is outside your window and offers two honest choices: renew, or keep using the versions you already have.
- Renewing issues a fresh key with a later window end. Older keys from before v1.0.3 (a "perpetual" or a "membership" key) still work: a membership's end date is read as an update window, and a perpetual key covers its major version without any window at all.
- The license check is a simple offline check, not copy protection. Technically capable people can bypass it. I'd rather keep the app simple for everyone than add hurdles; if the tool is worth it to you, pay for it.
Updates
Updates are opt-in. Your tool never changes under your feet.
- When you refresh prices, the app also fetches a tiny
version.jsonfrom https://holdbound.com and, if a newer version exists, shows a quiet notice. No other check ever runs, and nothing is installed by itself. - To update: download the new HTML file and put it in the same folder as the old one, then open it. The folder matters: the browser keys your data to the file's location, so opening the new file from somewhere else shows an empty ledger (your data is still in the old place, but that is a bad minute to live through). Your data is upgraded automatically if the format changed, and your key carries over. The old file keeps working if you ever want it.
- Minor versions (v1.1, v1.2 …) ship roughly monthly: bug fixes, new exchange formats, small improvements. Every v1.x is free for one-time buyers and members alike. The changelog lists every change.
- If you left an email address, you get the changelog with the download link when a version ships inside your update window.
Removing the key
License → Remove key from this browser removes it from the browser's stored data for this file, for example before handing a computer to someone else. Keep a copy of the key (or a backup); you can enter it again any time.
Revoked keys
A key can be revoked after a refund or if it has been shared publicly. The app then returns to read-only; your data is untouched and exportable. If you think a revocation is a mistake, email support@holdbound.com with the order reference.
